Paris...City of Lights! Paris is the capital of France, and has a long and interesting history. I’m going to discuss some highlights of modern Paris. I chose Paris because I’ve always dreamed of taking a trip there and their culture is so intriguing to me. It’s known as the city of love and light. It also has fascinating sights and it’s abundant with many cultures, art, beauty, and history.
Firstly, let's get into the sights! Now we all know that one of the many things Paris is known for is the lovely Eiffel Tower. Although few people know that the Eiffel Tower was supposed to be temporary, it was originally created for the 1889 World Fair or “Exposition Universelle” which took place in Paris. Who would’ve known it would be one of the finest structures that Paris is known for to this day. Another wonderful sight of theirs is the Louvre. The Louvre is the world’s largest Museum and was famous for the palace of French kings, and to admiresome of the world's finest art. The Louvre holds many of Western Civilization's most famous masterpieces, including the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci and the Vénus de Milo.
Paris is called “The City of Light’’ or as they say in French “La Ville Lumière” as well as “The City of Love” because of the romantic atmosphere it exudes and all the romantic vibes they find there.
Now let’s talk fashion. Just as much as I admire the sights I deeply admire the fashion they own. Most of the biggest designer brands come from or are inspired by Paris. Brands such as Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Chanel,Givenchy, etc. originated in Paris. Paris usually has fashion week twice yearly Spring/Summer edition and an Autumn/Winter edition. “La Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode détermine les dates.” These are some of the most interesting yet fascinating things I’ve learned throughout my research, and I hope you learned something too!
This essay is great, but it could should mention of neighboring towns and countries, such as Reims, Versailles, Brussels, and Luxembourg, to explore elsewhere when finished with Paris. In addition, nearby airports would be beneficial, as this is to gather tourists.
