Located in northern Italy, Milan is a fascinating place. Food, Fame, Fashion are three F’s that Milan is

known for. Milan is highly known in the fashion industry name brands of all kinds come from there, Dolce

and Gabbana, Prada, Versace, Armani you name it Milan has it. Fame is another aspect of Milan, one of the

great Leonardo Da Vinciś famous paintings called the “last supper” came from there, it also has the  beautiful

Food is another delicacy in Milan, dishes ranging from Risotto alla Milanese, Ossobuco with Gremolta,

and Polenta. Each dish is complicated in their own right, Risotto a simple rice dish of golden complexion with

the expensive saffron seasoning, Ossobuco with Gremolta containing cross cut veal shanks served with

Risotto and Polenta, Polenta containing mostly corn used as a side dish similar to rice.

One fun fact about Milan, is that it is actually a slavic male name from Rome. The city was founded by the

Celts all the way in the time of 600 BC. Milan is the 2nd biggest city in Italy. Another fun fact is that Milan

has a very beautiful river called the Naviglio Grande and it runs through northern Italy. It is 49.9 km long

and was first built all the way back in 1177 and completed in 1272. The canals were first built for transporting

goods but it isn’t anymore, now it's used for its beauty and for boats. If you are ever wondering about going

to this exquisite place known as Milan, the best time to go is April through May or September through

October.

  2. Excellent post! I had a dilemma a few days back while deciding on whether to visit Italy or Belgium. However, your blog has nudged me to choose the former simply because of its gastronomical delights and shopping offerings. I will be applying for an Italian Schengen visa any time soon. While I wait for my visa, I will start preparing an extensive travel itinerary because I am planning to stay in Italy for at least 2 or 3 weeks. I hope to have a gala time in this gorgeous country.
