San Diego Zoo, by Alisha C.

I chose to do my project on the San Diego Zoo because I like looking at animals and seeing how they walk compared to other animals and how they look because every animal is different. my mom likes taking me and my brothers to the franklin park zoo so that we can enjoy looking at something new that we don't really see everyday and i wanted to do this project on a Zoo so that i can get on the site and see my favorite animal which is a penguin. 

The San Diego Zoo has more than 3,700 animals and there are more than 650 species inside the zoo and something that I believe that is important is that it's the oldest zoo in the world and it has the largest population. One thing that surprised me was about the lockdown that they had to do because one friday night two striped hyenas escaped from their sealed compound. On a site i got this quote “Since San Diego started housing giant pandas, it has had six successful cub births, which is no small feat due to their notoriously difficult mating patterns.” The most important thing I believe that people should know about the San Diego Zoo is that  its institute put more than thirty endangered species back into the wild.
