Greece and Greek Gods, by Delilah S.

What do you know about Greece? There is actually so much to learn about Greece because it has a lot of history. To begin, Greece is where democracy started. Greece features thousands of islands  including Santorini and Mykonos. The highest mountain in  Greece is Mount Olympus it is measured it has over 50 peaks with the highest of about 2917 metres ( 9570 feet)

There are also many myths that came from Greece. The myths tell us about how the weather started,  and also they explain about how the universe and Earth began.  Gaia and Ouranos had children named Cyclopes and Hetekaneae. My favorite myth is how Medusa turned into a Gorgon by the goddess Athena.  The gods and goddess are the large part of the greek culture, like Zeus the supreme god of thunder and lightning and mankind.    Zeus-his sacred animal is the eagle. And Athena the goddess of wisdom and arts, was born out of Zeus’s head wearing full battle armor. Her symbols are the olive branch and the owl.  And of course the big three-Poseidon, Athena and Hades. Poseidon was the  god of the sea. His weapon was a trident powerful enough to shake the earth causing storms and earthquakes. His symbols are the trident, and his sacred animals are the dolphin and the horse.  And Hades the god of the underworld  he lived with Persephone in the underworld. The symbol of Hades is a helmet which helped him to stay invisible.  And so we have the Greek gods and goddess because if we do not have them the whole world will be less interesting, without Athena there will not be any Athens.
