traveling to Galapagos island By: Maeve A.

Today I went on a virtual tour of the Galapagos Islands. The Galapagos Islands are located in the eastern
Pacific Ocean off the west coast of South America. The islands became famous because in 1835,
Charles Darwin made a trip there as part of his study of evolution.
My tour guide’s name was Tuliyani.  The first thing she showed me was the animals
that were on the beach. We saw seals and iguanas. The seals were sunbathing. Then she took me to a
special Ecuadorian lunch. The food looked delicious. The next day we went on a morning hike to Isla
Bartolome. There were 300 steps but when we got to the top it was worth it because the view was amazing.
After we went snorkeling and saw some amazing animals including penguins. We crossed the equator the
next day and  landed on Genovesa island where there were thousands of birds. The next adventure she took
me  kayaking on Darwin bay.  The view from the Kayaks led us to see the cliffs from a different perspective.
At the end of the day we had our last meal of the trip it was steak and lobster. Then we headed back to
Isla Baltra to catch our flight back to the mainland. There were so many fascinating animals on the
Galapagos, but the most well known are the giant tortoises. They are only found on Galapagos island.

Overall it was a great adventure and I learned many new things about Galapagos island.
