San Diego Zoo Lions, by Christian C.

Have you ever been to the San Diego Zoo? While on a recent virtual tour of this zoo, I learned about a specific type of animal called an African Lion. This animal lives in grassland in Africa in a threatened condition. They can grow up to four feet tall, eating meat from other animals. But what I found really interesting is that lions live in groups called prides. The girl lions are the leaders of the pride. They sleep for 21 hours per day! When you have time, check out the San Diego Zoo, and while you’re there, make sure to check out the African Lion.Zoo website: https://zoo.sandiegozoo.org/

  1. Well done, Christian! Interesting that female lions are the pack leaders! I didn't know that. Thank you for writing this!
