It is the largest rainforest in the world. It covers a total area of 2.5 million square miles of rainforest. The Amazon rainforest represents 54% of the total amount of rainforests left on Earth. The rainforest holds a total of 2/3 of the insect's species. It also holds many different species of animals including many different tribes of native people. It contains many different resources such as medicine, wood, food and mines.
There are many things that are threatening the Amazon rainforest nowadays. Many different companies wish to exploit it such as multinational companies like MacDonald's, which would chop down the trees and graze their cattle there. Miners would need to dig holes that would take away the trees and logging people would need to cut down the trees. They would all need roads, which would result in more trees being cut down. Their machinery would cause pollution, which would get into the atmosphere and pollution, which would get into the water. I suggest that we have an area for the animals and plants that people could not cut down. When people cut a tree down they should plant two more trees in its place. When they do they should decrease the area they burn down and leave the area to recover for much longer.
I highly recommend taking a virtual tour of this amazing place. Here’s a link to get you started:
